Hellen Westerhof is a product designer and creative director working at the intersection of product, spatial systems, and material-based design. She has developed projects across mobility, technology, consumer goods, and exhibition contexts, collaborating with international brands including Moncler, Philips, Apple, Lufthansa and BMW.
Her work spans from conceptual design and prototyping to series production, including product collections, exhibition environments, and system-based design solutions. Selected works have been presented internationally at institutions and platforms such as MoMA / School of Visual Arts New York and Maison&Objet Paris, and have been recognized with awards including the German Design Award and the Interior Innovation Award.
Alongside her design practice, Westerhof is active in academia, teaching at multiple universities in Germany and leading industry-related design projects in collaboration with partners such as Festo, Villeroy & Boch, and Oberweis. Her teaching focuses on system-oriented design processes, material studies, and the development of spatial and product-based concepts.
She began her career working with Luigi Colani, contributing to experimental design and research projects in Germany and China, where she later took on a leading role in creative direction and international design development.
