One of the key aspects addressed was modularity. The students designed packaging solutions that allow for easy combination and extension of different design elements. This modular approach not only enhances the versatility of the packaging but also enables Oberweis to adapt to various product sizes and configurations without the need for entirely new designs.

Additionally, the students focused on creating simple configurations. Despite the complex appearance of the designs, they are based on straightforward geometric constructions. This simplification allows for the production of affordable tools for manufacturing the individual components, making the designs economically viable for mass production.

Sustainability was a central theme throughout the project. The students eliminated the use of traditional plastics, opting instead for PLA plastic for any necessary windows. They critically examined the necessity of packaging windows and explored alternative ways to present the chocolates attractively without them. Furthermore, the chosen paper types were free from harmful chemicals and toxins, ensuring that the packaging is both environmentally friendly and safe for consumers.

Through these innovative approaches, the new packaging concepts demonstrate how aesthetic design, modularity, simplicity, and sustainability can be effectively combined to create a responsible and appealing presentation of Oberweis's exquisite pralines.
