Aug '24_ SWR Leute Invitation
The invitation of Hellen Westerhof to the renowned show SWR1 Leute is a special honor. On September 9th, 2024 a live interview will take place, focusing on design philosophy, the collaboration with Luigi Colani, and current projects. Prior to the event, an article was published announcing the upcoming appearance, highlighting the work as a designer and the legacy of Luigi Colani. The interview will not only be recorded but also filmed. It will be available afterward on Spotify and in the ARD media library.

April '24_Travel Light Kit for Leica
In the course on sustainable packaging design, students delved deeply into the five pillars of sustainability defined by Hellen Westerhof: Rethink, Reduce, Replace, Reuse, and Recycle. Two students applied these principles to the specific case of a Leica camera to examine how to travel sustainably with such a valuable item. In doing so, they analyzed contemporary needs and their impact on packaging design.

Being Luigi Colani's last master student Hellen Westerhof will be giving a lecture about the design thesis of Luigi Colani on Dec 2, 2023 at 6pm at Galerie Stihl Waiblingen.

Nov '23_ Sustainable Packaging  for Oberweis S.A.
Over a period of ten months, students from the Sustainable Packaging Design program developed innovative concepts for Luxembourg's largest praline manufacturer, Oberweis S.A. The goal was to challenge traditional presentation methods of chocolate products under specific influencing factors and replace them with economically viable concepts, sustainable approaches. The new packaging concepts demonstrate how aesthetic design and ecological responsibility can harmonize.

April '23_ VEUVE CLICQUOT packaging concept studies
An iconic gift box based on the brand values of Veuve Clicquot: Innovation and Tradition. Sustainability can also be seen in the aspect of preservation and reuse. Westerhof's students of the Southwestphalia University of Applied Sciences have designed a rigid packaging that can have a later use.

May '18_ Luxury Packaging for  CHALET AFFAIR
This packaging combines the expertise and materials of 5 different suppliers and traditional craftsmanship – all based in Germany. Handmade luxury goods from the Chalet Affair brand need appropriate packaging for their placement in luxury department stores. The revival of the old craft of handmade cardboard box production was part of the project for Chalet Affair. ​​​​​​​

G-Class show car for CARLSSON.
​​​​​​​Branded Mercedes Benz G-Class with a full Moncler color & material concept including designed car wheels and leather interior. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Carlsson is specialized in high-end tuning of Mercedes Benz cars and developes exclusive small series for luxury brands in cooperation with designers.

July '17_ Project Eco Coral for BDC at MoMA New York.
We consider our project as a sustainable, technology-driven and strongly network-oriented alternative to vanishing coral reefs. Our method allows to create 3D-printed limestone corals that can be settled on seabeds by using natural material which even offers nutrients.​​​​​​​

Jan '17_ Wheel Collection.
Straight lines and a reduction to its essentials are the significant features of the creation. All spokes are characterized by a seamless transition of the individual segments. The alloy wheel forms a star shape, whose spokes emerge from the center to lean down at its edge. Thus, the front illustrate a concave surface. The concept follows the reduction of material and weight, shaping an incisive contrast to the massiveness of the vehicle body.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

May '16_ awarded* side table collection
The tables are either a low coffee table with large table top or a high side table with a smaller plate. The overall design of these "folded" side and coffee tables is based on Alucobond. The octagonal table top together with the four legs and the cross shaped base plan from a milled aluminum plate which is folded into its final form.

Jan '13_ Redesign Brand Portal for FESTO 
In 2012, under the leadership of board member Dr. Frontzek, Festo assembled a two-person team consisting of Dr. Ruwen Kaminski from Festo and Hellen Westerhof with the goal of redesigning Festo's digital Corporate Design Portal with a focus on user experience. Festo was one of the first medium-sized companies in Germany to adopt a comprehensive repertoire of Corporate Design Guidelines. The redesign focused primarily on creating a user-friendly and intuitive navigation to make the portal more accessible and appealing for Festo employees worldwide.
